Sparks vs Embers
BEAM has two balances. Sparks are free and belong to one channel. Embers cost money and work everywhere on BEAM.
| Sparks | Embers | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Points for one channel | A virtual currency for your whole account |
| How you get it | Watch a channel while signed in, claim bonus drops, join raids | Buy them, receive them as tips, or redeem a gift code |
| Costs money? | No. Sparks can’t be bought | Yes |
| What it’s for | Stickers, GIFs and flairs the channel prices in Sparks | Tips, stickers, GIFs, flairs, BEAM Premium and the BEAM store |
| Where you see it | The Sparks pill in that channel’s chat | The Ember balance at the top of the page |
| Can streamers cash it out? | No | Embers you receive land in your Ember balance; see Embers for streamers |
Your Sparks on one channel can’t be spent on another, and watching one channel earns nothing on the others. Embers are one balance you can use on any channel.
