Getting paid
Your channel starts earning from the first subscription, gifted subscription or Ember tip. You don’t need to set anything up to earn, but you do need to set up payouts before BEAM can pay you. Until then, your earnings are kept for you.
Who can get paid
Section titled “Who can get paid”You can receive payouts if you’re 18 or older and participating as an individual, or you’re a business or other eligible organization, and you’re located in a country where BEAM supports a payout method. The BEAM Monetization Terms are the full rules.
What you earn from
Section titled “What you earn from”- Subscriptions and gifted subscriptions. You keep 70%, 80% or 90% depending on your monetization tier.
- Embers you receive as tips or stickers go to your Ember balance, not your payout balance. See Embers for streamers.
Set up payouts
Section titled “Set up payouts”-
Open Payouts in Studio and select Set up payouts.

Choose your payout country and agree to the BEAM Monetization Terms. If payouts aren’t available in your country yet, you can keep receiving support and your earnings are held until they are.

Add a payout method: Stripe, a bank account, PayPal or a phone number. Which ones you see depends on your country.
You can add more than one method and choose which one receives payouts. A change applies from the next payout; a payout already being prepared uses the method it started with.
When you’re paid
Section titled “When you’re paid”Payouts run monthly, in UTC:
- Your earnings for a calendar month close on the 1st of the next month.
- They’re paid on the 15th of that month.
For example, what you earn in June closes on July 1 and is paid on July 15. The Payouts page shows your next payout date and how much it will be.
Minimum payout
Section titled “Minimum payout”The minimum payout is US$15. If your balance is below it on payout day, nothing is lost: it carries over to the next month until it reaches the minimum. The Payouts page shows the minimum for your payout method.
Pausing payouts
Section titled “Pausing payouts”You can pause payouts from the Payouts page to keep your balance on BEAM for up to 180 days. You can resume at any time, and the pause ends on its own when the time is up. Your balance is paid on the first payout date after you resume.
Do I need to set up payouts before I can earn?
Section titled “Do I need to set up payouts before I can earn?”No. Your channel earns from day one. Payout setup is only needed to withdraw.
What currency am I paid in?
Section titled “What currency am I paid in?”Earnings are counted in US dollars. If you’re paid in another currency, your payout provider converts it, and its exchange and transfer fees can mean you receive a little less. See the Monetization Terms.
Why didn’t I get paid this month?
Section titled “Why didn’t I get paid this month?”The Payouts page explains the state of your next payout. The usual reasons are: payouts aren’t set up yet, you haven’t added a payout method, your balance is under the minimum, or payouts are paused.
